HAPPY 4TH!!

 

The 4th of July is winding down as I write this. The firecracker pops are getting to be less and less. We had a pretty good day. I hope you all did as well. 

We started the day by making a nommy and patriotic cake.

We were invited to some friends for a cookout and pool party today. We had a great time. The kids were finally tiring of the pool and had just got out to eat some fabulous homemade banana pudding when a storm came up. After the lightning show we had, we didn't need to see fireworks!! WOW! I couldn't decide what to wear today. I knew we'd be in and out and I wanted to wear red, white and blue. But what? I know, me not knowing if I had red to wear. Puhlease! Here's what I decided on:

Red, white and blue outfit with my very patriotic charm bracelet!

We ended our day with some sparkler dueling!!

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness.  You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.  ~Erma Bombeck
