Good Luck, Christmas Trees and New Boots

Yeah, I'm feeling random again today. I don't really even have an outfit post. But really, I can't compete with Lise's outfit today. She looks amazing. I was shopping with her when she bought that dress, yet I didn't even see it. I think she used some sort of Jedi mind trick on me.

I want to wish everyone that is participating in Kendi's  30 for 30 Remix good luck. You are brave women and I will not be doing this. I change my mind too much and I like to keep my options open. Commit to just 30 pieces of clothing?!! It just does not compute. Plus, have you seen our Georgia weather? It's winter one day and summer the next! I wouldn't even know what to pick! Anyway. Good luck, Y'all!

Ben and I went Christmas shopping Sunday to the Mall of Georgia. I don't get to go to that mall often as it's about an hour away. And I love it! We bought NOTHING for the kids at the mall. (Don't tell him this, but I knew we probably wouldn't buy for them there. I just needed an excuse to go!)  And can you believe it? They already have their Christmas trees up and Santa was even there already, with a child on his knee. Could we seriously just get thru one holiday at a time?!

I've been looking for tall brown boots and just not having any luck, because I'm cheap. I know I won't wear them alot and I just don't want to spend alot of money on a pair. Well, we went to Target, where we DID buy the kids gifts, and I found a pair of boots on the clearance rack for **$7.56**!! YES! They are mine!!

Don't you just love Target clearance?!

Everyone, in the blog world, has been wearing lace skirts. I bought a lace skirt from a thrift store this summer for **$1** and have never worn it. I like the idea of it. I like the way everyone else has worn their's, but I've just been hesitant and unsure. Well, I finally wore it last week. I wore my brown wool skirt from Gap, that I got for $5 at Goodwill. But it's kinda itchy without a slip. I didn't have a slip short enough. So I put the lace skirt under it and let the ruffle peek out. I thought it was cute, if not a little bit Little House on the Prairie-ish.  I'm still unsure about that lace skirt, though. By the way, that sweater? I bought it at The Dollar General! Can you believe that? It's cute. I don't care where it came from!

Oh, update on me hitting Ben's car. Yeah. His "damage" buffed right out. There is a couple of little flecks that could use a spot of touch up paint. But his is absolutely fine. Mine will take more than some buffing, I'm afraid.

  1. Seriously, those boots on clearance?! That's amazing! I'm so jealous!

I adore your outfit, I think the lace peeking out is genius and that sweater is FABULOUS - no matter where it came from!

I think one day we're not even going to have Halloween or Thanksgiving, it'll go from Labor Day to Christmas. We may even skip over Labor Day eventually.

  2. Under $8 for boots? GET OUT! Steal of the century. You've got some good shopping mojo, for sure. Wish I could brush up against you and siphon some of it off! Haha.~! Cute vest/sweater, too. Looks like a great layering piece.

  5. Get out?! $8 for those fantastic boots? I love them! Also, I think you incorporated your lace skirt perfectly. That's a great way to ease into wearing it.

I'm doing the 30x30, so feel free to check in on me and cheer me on when I start losing momentum!
