HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe and Happy New Year!!
I spent the day shopping with Ben and Leah. (Blake never goes. He always chooses to play video games with Lise's kids. Go figure.) We went to Kohl's where I had a little Kohl's cash. But for once, I couldn't find anything to spend that $10 on! Any other time, I'd find a dozen things I wanted, but not today. I did end up getting a pair of silver earrings. Woopee.
We also went to Goodwill and I DID find some things there. I got a cute Talbots skirt AND a Talbots sweater that still had the tags on it! I got a blue Lands End cardigan and a green sweater to go with the skirt. I have $19.76 in the whole lot! WOOHOO!!
I wore the sweater and shell from Coldwater Creek that Lise gave me for Christmas. Lise has good taste!! And I wore my new Target boots that I got with some of my Christmas money. I am in love with them! They have the stretchy panel in the back so they fit my calves better than most boots.
Tonight...well, I'm sitting here blogging to you. So I guess that tells you that we are not going out partying anywhere tonight! LOL The spirit is willing but the body is weak. I'm just too tired to deal with it. I'm sitting in my pjs watching Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper. I love watching them. I just love seeing Kathy embarrass Anderson and Anderson never knows what she's going to say next. (I just flat out love Anderson Cooper Period!)
I'm happy to have met you all this year. We started this blog not really knowing where it was going to go or if anyone would even read it. It got us started in the blogging community and put us in touch with some wonderful women. You all inspire us everyday. I can't wait to see what you all have in store for next year!

Happy New Year! Glad to see we aren't the only ones ringing in 2011 as a family. :-) Love the sweater and especially the boots!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year -you really made out at Goodwill - can't wait to see them!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I hope you both have a healthy & happy year, and that Lise retains her sanity :)
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater & shell and that necklace looks fabulous with it! It's really a pretty combination of colors.
I was actually just looking at those boots at Target, and there you are, wearing them! They look great, and they have good reviews online.
You should post pics of your buys when you get them so we can ooh and ahh before you wear them. Instant gratification! Plus, I'm a Talbots junkie so I want to see exactly what you got.
You picked a great outfit to end the year in...love your boots and sweater. I also did well at Goodwill last week; it was fun! Don't feel bad about being on the computer last night, I chaperoned a house full of high school senior boys! Now there's a big New Years!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2011!
Happy New Year! Great boots!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I, too, watched Kathy & Anderson in my PJ's. You may just be my new shopping inspiration -- you do such a great job making great finds!
ReplyDeleteJoy, if you read this post first, call Lise to read it:

It's an article in the NYT about a nursing home in AZ that has practically eliminated Sundowner's by treating AD patients totally differently than they have been in the past - including giving them chocolate and bacon. Apparently emotions remain after memories leave, and food like that make you feel loved (well, they didn't need a scientific study to tell ME that!). Also, giving AD patients dolls to care for, and showing them funny/happy movies - because the emotions remain when the memories are gone - also helps keep them peaceful. It is so interesting!
Please respond when one of you has seen this post so I know you got it.

Thank you, Joyce! I'll be sure that she reads it! Unfortunately, they are in the ER right now because Ida fell and hit her head and had to have staples in her head. I think she's ok, though. I'll update when Lise lets me know.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, chocolate and bacon. Well, those 2 things would make ME happy!! LOL
oh no!
ReplyDeleteCheers to you and Lise

Joy--I am bubbling over with your champagne. I have been thrifting too, but it sounds like you found entire outfits. Lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteJOYCE!!!! Oh my!!! Chocolate and bacon!! I have been eating nothing but that, and then I realized it was for Ida. LOL I tried to get ahold of you via email, but could not find one. What an amazing article and such needed advice for me. And to think that some of the most needed comfort has come from my blog friends. God is so good to me!!! thanks Joyce.
ReplyDeletelove the coldwater creek sweater, I miss living near one shopping online is not the same. Also love the boots stretchy panels are the best. Can't wait to see the Talbots sweater w/the fur collar. Have a happy new year, really enjoy seeing what outfits you come up with.
