Hello ladies!
I am so excited to be a guest blogger for my beautiful Aunt Lise and her lovely BFF Joy.
I hope you will be able to look past the fact that I am indeed...a Yankee.
My blog, No Model Lady owes its name to Mae West who said,
"I'm no model lady. A model's just an imitation of the real thing".
So what is a real lady?
Since the days of June Cleaver the title of "lady" has become synonymous with the docile Stepford Wife devoid of individuality or independent thought.
I disagree.
To me a lady is someone who conducts herself with class and grace. A lady is someone who looks down on no one unless she's lifting them up. She is comfortable with her sexuality but she doesn't flaunt it in the raunchy way that most women on today's reality shows do. A real lady dresses with respect for herself.

*Skirt- Old Navy, Nude fishnets- Victoria's Secret, White top & bow belt-Express, Cardigan- Target, Shoes-Nine West (TJ Maxx).
We all have individual preferences and ideas about the definition of a lady, but beneath the exterior differences a lady is easily distinguishable by how she treats others and how she treats herself.

Thank you for guesting with us today! And WOW to that look! I absolutely love it! And I agree with everything you said about being a lady. You don't have to be all prim and proper all the time. It's ok to show a LITTLE of this and a LITTLE of that, but let's leave something to the imagination! LOL And a real lady doesn't tear people down for sport.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone enjoys you as much as we do!!
I LOVE what you wrote! You are an amazing and true lady! I want your hat pretty bad though...uhmmmm...a lot! You look stunning! Thanks for being our guest blogger!

Um, I heart your tattoo. :)
ReplyDeleteI am a fellow yankee--and love your outfit and your sentiments! Don't you just love hats?
ReplyDeleteI like what you said and i am from the south, so we have definite ideas of what a "lady" is
ReplyDeleteYour hat is the bomb.
I want to see a bigger picture of the tat. I want to see the whole thing. I'll show you mine if you show me your's!!
ReplyDeleteHey, Harrison!!
That's hilarious Harrison!
ReplyDeleteI just have to say that I have a hot sister, and a hot aunt!! Both are real ladies.
THIS is the heart of your definition: A lady is someone who looks down on no one unless she's lifting them up. My goodness you make that pencil skirt look amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect definition. And you do look every bit the personification of a true blue lady.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair color. And if I weren't a lady, I would ask you if it's not your natural color, what color dye it was.
ReplyDeleteHowever, my mom didn't raise her daughters to be rude.
So let me just tell you it is one of the loveliest shades of red I've ever seen, and I am breaking a commandment, I covet it so much.
You fit the Southern Belle just perfectly in that yummy hat! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI am originally from KY and Now live in Ohio.
My parent's friends now call me a 'yank' ;)
A lady can be so many things and sometimes being 'ornery' is the most perfect thing a lady can be ;)
