We had the absolute best time yesterday! I can't tell you how much fun it was. We felt like kids skipping school. No work, no kids, no husbands and no time limit!! WOOHOO!!!
We dropped everyone off and headed to the Mall of Georgia. Our first stop was Charming Charlie. It was the first time Lise had been in there and like everyone does, when she walked in the door, she gasped. It's just a wonderland of accessories in there. I've got some pictures from in there. My eyes are closed in one but ignore it and just look at the store behind me. And the ladies in there, especially Crystal, couldn't have been nicer. They were so welcoming and helpful. They were, by far, the best store team we encountered all day.
Immediately upon entering the door, I found a scarf and it matched the sweater and earrings I had on perfectly. So, of course, I wore it out of the store! That sweater I'm wearing is a Talbot's that I got at Goodwill for $4!
Lise found some oh, so cute rain boots on sale. And she got a ton of jewelry off the 75% off rack.
We hit up H&M, F21, Coach, and many other stores. And unfortunately, we just weren't feeling any of them. No one really had any good sales on or just didn't have anything. I guess we're between seasons and sales or something? Or it could be that thrifting has absolutely ruined us for regular mall shopping.
The other place we had a great time was Sephora. That is like the mothership for makeup, isn't it? The ladies there were most helpful, too. We got some really good advice from them. And samples, too!
I've been looking for a computer bag to take to my new job. I looked at Coach, but as much as I love Coach, I just can't spend $200 on a computer bag-even if I had the money to do it. We looked at Fossil and their's just weren't big enough. As we were going to Banana Republic (oh, we were back at the Commerce outlets at this point) I saw the Wilson's next door. I'd completely forgotten about it! Well, we went in there and found exactly what I was looking for. I got a beautiful red leather laptop case and it was only $70! I think I did pretty good. Isn't it pretty?
Today is my last Friday at State Farm. So I wore my State Farm sweatshirt one more time. I jazzed it up a little bit with the leopard scarf I got at H&M yesterday for $3 and my leopard shoes from Target.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes and emails yesterday! I truly appreciate it!!
You look awesome! And yes, thrifting sometimes ruins it for the mall because you look at something and go "hmmm...I bet I can find something like for for $4".LOL
ReplyDeleteSo true about thrifting...suddenly the good retail prices don't look so good any more...but your computer bag is a great choice! I love the red...enjoy your last day!
ReplyDeleteHey, where is the mall you speak of. I have kids in Canton and I might be down that way soon. By the way, that blue sweater is one of my favorite colors and it looks wonderful on you.
ReplyDeleteJudy, it's in Buford, right on Hwy 20, just off 85. I don't know where Canton is. :( It's a really nice mall.
ReplyDeleteWe've been talking about how we need to see who all we can get together for a meetup in ATL.
Happy Belated Birthday Joy!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a fun day together! I love that color blue, and it is such a flattering color for you.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Charming Charlie... I think, like Stuckeys, we don't have them up nawth (that's some more Boston-speak for you). I will have to google them and see what they're all about!
Lise, I love that coat. It is so pretty.
@Joy, Canton is not far from where I live in Woodstock.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you had a wonderful trip!! Enjoy your last day at the office. My hubby was just at State Farm today looking into refinancing my car. :) Also, an ATL meet up would be fun! Happy weekend to you both!
Joy! Lise! You're famous! Charming Charlie found you! Please remember us little people ;)
ReplyDeleteoh so fun!! Love it! Love the leopard you added to the sweatshirt! Happy last day!! I'm sure you will be missed!
ReplyDeleteOMG that Charlie's store sound heavenly
ReplyDeleteNever heard of it before
So glad you had fun and found some cool stuff
Birthdays are the best
I know I'm ruined for regular retail. Your new computer bag is sharp! Now, how much did Charming Charlie's set you back?
ReplyDeleteYou know, we did good in there. I think Lise spent about $40 but got a ton! And I only spent about $18!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! It sounds like a wonderful day out on the town/shops! I've never heard of this Charming Charlies! Is it a southern store/ Or maybe just not a rural, middle of nowhere Michigan store? Regardless, it looks like there's lots of good finds inside!
ReplyDeleteAnd, what a score that red laptop bag is! good work!
What a wonderful birthday!! There is nothing better than spending it with your bestie! :)
ReplyDeleteYou picked a beautiful bag - and what a deal!
Sounds like a great time! I love your new bag. Happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you gals had a fabulous time! The closest Charming Charlies is a couple of hours away in Fort Wayne. Lise knows where that is...;-) Hopefully Indy will get one...looks like such fun.
