Come To the Dark Side....of Haircolor.

Winter has lingered here and the sun has been nowhere to be seen for a long time.
This has caused my skin to become rather pale which in turn makes me feel a bit blah when I look in the mirror.  It was time for a subtle change (actually I wanted a huge change, but spouse was like "uhm...no."
We used the same base color and then added 6 foils with a shade 4 shades darker.
Using the foils is a great way to add shading and depth.  It is also easy to grow out since it is not an
allover color which leaves a very definite line of demarcation.
I loved it and it does add a depth and color around my face so I don't look so pale.
I could break down and buy a pass to the tanning bed but I have a real thing against tanning beds.
Nothing personal except for the whole gives you wrinkles and cancer stuff. lol

Since Joy left the office, I have been coming in to fill in here and there. It is not the same without her.
And The Ida misses me.  I have got to tell you some great stories that she shared sometime because she is a pretty amazing woman.  She used to have to pick 200 lbs. of cotton a day!  Ida rocks!

Today I chose a great green (the color of spring) pinstripe shirt and cardi,  then threw on a cranberry scarf for my punch of color and amber jewelry for sunshine.  My photographer today is, Kaja Marie, age 9.
I told her to do whatever she wanted today with the camera.  I love it!  She has an eye for detail and
I think she caught a lot of that!

Amber, coral and jade necklace from Helen, Ga.

Amber earrings-made by friend to match the necklace
I have a think for amber since it is so Scandinavian like me.
Dior lipgloss

Low-lighting.  Love 2 tone coloring!

With winter still underway and the sun being a "no-show" I have a couple things that have been wonderful at this time of year!  Hope they help you also.  To get them I usually go to Sephora or Sephora.com!  I love me some Sephora! (I added the links for these products also).

1. benefit Erase Paste  Without sunkissed color to my face, my dark circles have taken on a new life of their own!  If they got any bigger I'm was afraid I could count them off as dependants!  Then I found this great concealer!  wow!  It is hands down the best!  Apply underneath the eye...but do not forget the "bat cave!!!  This is what I call the area by the inner corner of the eye.  A dot here will bring this out and make your eyes look instantly brighter.
2.  Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in the new color Pink Veil (watermelon pink) #654
This is the most fabulous color in the world!  I tried it on at Sephora and was a bit nervous by just looking at the color.  I put it on and Joy even agreed it was amazing!  It added a great glow and it such a great gloss!
Heaven in a tube ladies!
3.  Hello Kitty perfume- Hey don't laugh!  Have you ever smelled something and thought it smelled like spring?  Or reminded you of something wonderful?  When I was checking out at Sephora I got a whiff and was like "Hey, this is springy and fun!".  So that's what I am wearing today!
4. Too-Faced Glamour Gloss in Plush (its volumizing and this color is well suited for everyone)
I know, I already put up a lip gloss, but this is sunshine in a tube.  And you can wear it alone or over a darker color.  So there.  Besides, Lipgloss is my favorite thing!

What products do you love?

Best.Birthday.EVER!

We had the absolute best time yesterday! I can't tell you how much fun it was. We felt like kids skipping school. No work, no kids, no husbands and no time limit!! WOOHOO!!!

We dropped everyone off and headed to the Mall of Georgia. Our first stop was Charming Charlie. It was the first time Lise had been in there and like everyone does, when she walked in the door, she gasped. It's just a wonderland of accessories in there. I've got some pictures from in there. My eyes are closed in one but ignore it and just look at the store behind me. And the ladies in there, especially Crystal, couldn't have been nicer. They were so welcoming and helpful. They were, by far, the best store team we encountered all day.

Immediately upon entering the door, I found a scarf and it matched the sweater and earrings I had on perfectly. So, of course, I wore it out of the store!  That sweater I'm wearing is a Talbot's that I got at Goodwill for $4!

Lise found some oh, so cute rain boots on sale. And she got a ton of jewelry off the 75% off rack.

We hit up H&M, F21, Coach, and many other stores. And unfortunately, we just weren't feeling any of them. No one really had any good sales on or just didn't have anything. I guess we're between seasons and sales or something? Or it could be that thrifting has absolutely ruined us for regular mall shopping.

The other place we had a great time was Sephora. That is like the mothership for makeup, isn't it? The ladies there were most helpful, too. We got some really good advice from them. And samples, too!

I've been looking for a computer bag to take to my new job. I looked at Coach, but as much as I love Coach, I just can't spend $200 on a computer bag-even if I had the money to do it. We looked at Fossil and their's just weren't big enough. As we were going to Banana Republic (oh, we were back at the Commerce outlets at this point) I saw the Wilson's next door. I'd completely forgotten about it! Well, we went in there and found exactly what I was looking for. I got a beautiful red leather laptop case and it was only $70! I think I did pretty good. Isn't it pretty?

Today is my last Friday at State Farm. So I wore my State Farm sweatshirt one more time. I jazzed it up a little bit with the leopard scarf I got at H&M yesterday for $3 and my leopard shoes from Target.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes and emails yesterday! I truly appreciate it!!

A Warm Coat That Doesn't Give You The Cold Shoulder!

I am at the pharmacy, strep has run through the kids and this is about my 50th time to CVS.  But, now I'm getting a prescription for me because somehow the laws of the universe broke and now I have it.   Anyhoo, he hands me my prescriptions and I ask "Does this need to be refrigerated?".  Our pharmacist looks at me and replies "No, Mrs. Tyner, they're pills".  Duh.
I have the mental capacity of a circus poodle about now, thank you.

The good thing is that I "happened" to find one of my Christmas gifts and immediately put it on.  It is freezing and I *need* it.  It is also about the most adorable, well fitting coat ever in the whole wide world of coats!
I have long gorilla arms that are only good for hugging people and playing volleyball....NOT finding coats.  By the time I find one with long enough sleeves, 3 of me could fit into the rest of it.  I do not particularly like puffer coats either because I feel like a penguin and walk like one too.
Then I found this coat at Coldwater Creek!
YAY!  It is warm & sleeveless, but I don't have a cold shoulder.  It has adjustable straps on the side that are ever so cute and the color is dreamy.  The most important thing is the fur collar. I am a sucker for faux fur!!!  This is me yesterday when I stopped by to pass on some germs to Joy and take her picture for the blog.

Joy laughed because she said my hair is the same color as the fur collar! lol

This is also one of my favorite hats which I tend to wear when am sick because it hides bedhead!
The coat is current so go buy one!!!  They are luscious!

Just in case you need the coat also....because you do....here is the link:
And right now they have 25% off and free shipping!

Now on to today!  I am back at work and wearing green and chocolate brown!  I love the colors together.  For some fun I added my kitten heel shoes from Target which are not only comfy, but so chic!  WinWin!

I am feeling a bit "Mad Men" today which is totally me.  But almost every piece came from Coldwater Creek (and on sale right now). I also threw on a fur collar that I "stole" from another sweater.
A vintage pin holds it in place.

I don't look happy!  Probably because I just had to take another pill the size of a Prius!
Isn't there some type of size limit?

I can hear the chemists now:
"Do you think we made these pills too large?"
"Why no, Mrs. Tyner can fit in a Prius, so I am sure she can swallow one"
(and I do own a log-splitter in case I need to cut them in half)
"
 Way cute tights and shoes!
Sweater:  Coldwater Creek- sale
Pencil skirt:  Coldwater Creek- sale
Shoes: Target
Tights: Old Navy (last year)

PS.
I had to show you my makeup bag that I got in the mail from Sephora!
It is so so cute and the compact is wonderful to use and look at.

OK, I am done. But I am glad to be back!!! I missed Blogville!
