Shiny, Happy People!!

Shiny happy people laughing
Meet me in the crowd
People people
Throw your love around
Love me love me
Take it into town
Happy happy
Put it in the ground
Where the flowers grow
Gold and silver shine

Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing
Did you know that REM was from here? We used to see them around downtown Athens a lot, back in college. They would just randomly show up somewhere.

I was feeling happy and shiny Friday because A. It was jeans (Gap, 1969 jeans) day and B. I had on my shiny, happy Chuck Taylor All-Stars. Aren't they fabulous?! I got them at Kohl's on clearance for $10!! W00T!! The white button down is a men's Tommy Hilfiger that I got at Goodwill for $5.
Aren't they fabulous?!
Today we went to Lowe's to get a new living room rug and ended up with a rug and 16 bags of mulch and 8 bushes! We checked out some pretty flowers but I'm afraid we're going to have another freeze so I'm going to give it a couple of more weeks. It's been known to snow in Georgia in April, even!

Hope you all are having a Shiny, Happy Weekend!!

Shiny, indeed!!

  1. I was tempted to buy flowers today, but we usually get one more cold snap in right before April...but spring is for sure in the air! I love your shiny shoes...very Dorothy like! I think you and Lise would love the two ladies i met today...come on over and read about will take me two posts to cover everything!!

  2. I still have a couple of months of waiting before we can even buy flowers at Lowe's. I'm so jealous...of that AND of the new sneaks.

  3. Nothing beats dark wash jeans with a crisp white shirt!

  4. You know I *love* the pics with the tretorns! ;)

  5. I had forgotten that about REM...I loved the Losing My Religion song....sooooo great! Athens also gave the world the Love Shack via the B52s!! You obviously live in a wonderful city! ~Serene

Can I tell you how much I loved my tretorns in junior high and high school!!!
    Do they still make them?
You know I love those sparkly Check Taylors too.
    LOL @ the yard stuff.
Husband talked me into going to Costco with him and we brought home more yard products than food items.
Now who is going to spread all of that stuff I ask you?
