Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear

Put a chain around my neck, and lead me anywhere. Oh let me be....your teddy bear.

The kids went back to school today. They were hating life this morning. It's been 17 days of staying up late and sleeping in. 6:30 was a shock to their systems! And it's report card day. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? LOL

I finally learned how to use the self timer on my camera!! I'm so proud of myself. But, man, it's hard to take pictures of yourself! I miss Lise being here every day to do it!!! I just miss Lise period!!

Today I am trying to be Elvis' teddy bear in my cardigan with the fur collar and cuffs. It's so cozy and I keep wanting to pet myself. (And apparently, I'm on a fur kick!) I got this cardi at Goodwill this weekend. It was new with the tags!! And it was only $5!! I paired it with my teddy bear brown wool skirt from Gap that was also thrifted from Goodwill for $5. And my new brown boots from Target. I think my skirt may be a touch short. Hmmm... Oh, well. I felt I needed some color and chose this teal Ann Taylor blouse. The necklace I have on, I got for Christmas last year and I think this may be the first time I've ever worn it. I have a hard time figuring out what earrings to put with it because it's so chunky. I ended up with silver hoops but it seems boring. Any ideas?
Close up so you can see the necklace.

  2. It can be VERY hit or miss. Sometimes I go in there and there is just NOTHING worth looking at much less buying.

  3. Can't help you with the jewelry...I bought myself a chunky necklace like this after Christmas, but it came with earrings. I love the color combination in the outfit. It looks really polished. Your headline reminded me of a line of conversation with my youngest daughter at Christmas brunch. She said, "Mom, did you know that Elvis sang gospel." Sounds like she'd made a recent discovery.

  5. What a great deal!! It looks fantastic on you!

Your poor kids! I can appreciate their pain. I was supposed to go back to teaching on Monday but I decided to extend my leave - I'm so glad I did!

  7. I think this is my favorite outfit of all the things you've shown us so far. I am a big fan of chunky necklaces and I always wear them with smaller earrings, like my silver hoops. That way they don't compete.
And if you can wear a shorter skirt, go for it!
